Hello.

1st post!...........Thought I'd introduce myself on here. I'm the proud owner of a 2005 cv8. Absolutely loving it, getting plenty of attention from men lol.

Anyway it's got a few mods, ap upgrade, milltek cat back, stainless decat pipes, cut outs which are very good for scaring kids and old ladies, ripshifter and a remap to 366bhp.

Plans are to put some high flow cats on and hopefully at the same time some headers from either a 5.7 vxr or a new set off the Internet somewhere before Mot next year and have it re remapped. After that I'll have to see what the wife allows.

Cheers
Ste

Nice one Ste. The cv8 is a fine looking ,but understated car. Only people who know about cars recognise them and give you the knowing nod. Get it supercharged and most people won't know what just blew them away..driving

That's a nice looking one mate, remarkably similar to mine! I used to have those wheels on my CV8 too (one of the many sets I've had!) and black is definitely the fastest colour as Kev says. Enjoy it and do the mods you're talking about and you'll love it, don't bother with VXR headers though, for the money you'd spend you may as well just get some off the internet. Pacemakers are good but from Australia so shipping can be pricey, Wortec are Fcensoreding expensive but good and AAS up north will do you a set of stainless headers with sport cats for about £1100 I think and they don't need your car as they've done so many CV8's they've got a jig so that's shipped to you. As for power upgrades, it's a small block Chevy engine LS1 so there's no end of tuning stuff available for it from here or abroad. There's always people on here willing to help and find you parts or people when you need them. So welcome along and look forward to seeing you at the next meet thumbup

Yeah I like the fact that it's understated although funnily my wife wants it to look a bit more aggressive!

Yeah it's in pretty good condition, ideally when funds allow I'll get the front end resprayed. It would be the fastest colour if I didn't have to stop every 5 min to clean it....... Doing nothing for my clean car ocd lol.

And yeah I'll be probably asking a lot of questions when I come to spending money on it, it's my 1St monaro and v8 so all new to me. Previous car was an fiat coupe le so completely different car.

Welcome to the club!
Looks lovely, with some nice mods. Where abouts are you based? Would be good to see this at a few meets!
I'm likely to have some 5.7 VXR headers for sale in a month or so, if your interested, drop me a line.

Thanks very much.

I'm up north in Southport but yeah I'm wanting to get to some meets although I'm guessing I've missed out this year with winter drawing in?

Your headers, are they a decent upgrade over the cv8 cast headers do you know, sound and power wise? Really want a great v8 sound or would I be better paying extra for say some pacemaker headers?

Nice motor pal smile
Might be a few guys at Yorkshire Big Breakfast 16th October in Malton if that's anywhere near you.
I'm surprised yours doesn't already have a decent v8 noise with cutouts?

Well yeah it does if I've got the cut outs open which I really only use if I'm taking it to a local car show or showing/scaring people lol . I'm after a nice every day v8 noise when closed. And to be fair it does sound good but as it's on the standard headers I'm thinking I can get it to sound better.

Just checked Malton over 2 hours away so it's possible. not a million miles from where I bought the car.

I know the feeling mate mine sounds terrible but while I've had my cutouts installed since the last month or so I've had them open as soon as I leave my street!
Malton is a really good meet it seems to get probably the best variation of cars turning up in my opinion.
