Hi,had anybody had their Drivers seat start to collapse? Or start to become unattached to the car in anyway?

No but unless I get on a diet quickly, I can see this becoming a potential problem.

(Seriously, mine has 103K on the clock and has had 6 owners. No probs with the seats.)

I'm sure I've heard this mentioned before
Something about seat frame or rail

By unattached do you mean it moves forward slightly under braking?

If so, this may help:

The seat appears to be loosened, but the rail is attached to the Floor ok.
My wife did say it was probably a Fat Bstrd issue! The seat has a list to port now and you can pull the Centre console side up amd down.
Something broken?
Simon.

The sides of the centre console are a bit flappy by nature - there are two (10mm?) bolts through the bottom of the cubby box (under the rubber bit) which secures most of the centre console assembly. There are a few more bits to disconnect if you actually want to remove it.

There are two bolts at the front of the seat.
If you undo them you can tilt the seat all the way back.
You can then have a good look at the foam and springs ect.
The seat runners will be left in place so check for anything loose.
Watch out for the ant-static Earth spring near the trans tunnel. It might fly off!
On my car I had issues with both front seats.
They would move forward under braking, and move back under acceleration.
I sorted this problem out by fitting official GM seat track damper kit.
These were purchased from Vauxhall, and cost around £30.00 each...I think?

Hope that helps....John
