Unfortunately if I don't drive the car, the alarm seems to drain the battery very low within three weeks.

Took it off to leave on charge for most of the day, but managed to drop the spanner across the terminals while tightening them - guess we've all done it?!

Now the starter & solenoid aren't clicking in, though everything else seems to work fine. Swapped the battery for a known good one tonight and no difference.

All fuses look ok, on inner wing and under dash. Is there a fuse able link somewhere else I should be looking at or might I have done some real damage to the electronics?

Help appreciated - thanks!

Would it be worth changing/swapping the solenoid first?

yes - thanks - I'll wire the solenoid direct and see if it has failed as a coincidence...

If it is working must be wires or relay in the starting circuit I guess.

Sorted! A bit of tinkering around the starter motor and it came back to life.
Seems starter solenoid is on its way out...
