Split timing cover

I'm on the fence no doubt, but my engine is currently out and I'm considering all options...I am likely to put a bigger cam in later, so it would save some effort later (doubly so if I decide to return to the current 222-226/115).
The only thing it will do is save you from extracting the crank pulley. I have one fitted its a QTP CNC piece very nice but expensive. Can't use a double roller with it. (you only need a single anyway)I'd think in most cases it would be rather difficult to set the cam timing correctly swapping a cam via that method, unless it's just a line the dots up job ( although to be fair most modern cams these days are ground pretty much spot on )
And obviously you cant put a new chain on etc, which would be nice to do when changing the cam
