Hi,

Every time I look on autotrader a silver Monaro VRX (KA07 NKP) keeps jumping off the page at me.
Was just wondering if anyone knew the car?

Cheers

This the one from Sheffield?

I very very nearly bought this when I viewed it a month or so ago. It got reduced to 11,490 because that was the price I was going to pay but pulled out of it because I had my heart set on a black one.

Condition was immaculate, think the garage got the wheels refurbed and also fitted new brakes and tyres although I didn't check which make they were. I drove it around without the salesman for around 40 minutes and even though it was the first Monaro that I had driven I had no complaints from it. Obviously the gearbox wasn't as refined as I was used to but other than that it drove fantastic. Spotless all round, I couldn't fault it actually.

Very low owners as well iirc, think the previous owner traded it in for a jag and looked after it well. This was before I knew about monkfish and the Monaro world so didn't check to see where it was serviced.

The garage was also very nice and really nice people who run it.

It you're after a standard Monaro then I would recommend anybody to view this, obviously don't take my word on it but from what I saw with the one visit I didn't see anything wrong with it.

Edit to say just remembered the engine warning light flashed up as I was parked up half way round my test drive but then went off and didn't come back on. Maybe worth taking a diagnostic machine if possible to double check or get the garage to plug it in.

Yes its the one at Sheffield, I drove past a few weeks ago on way back from taking the other half shopping but the car wasn't there.
Might have to go and have a look at it.
I would also prefer black but not much choice out there without travelling half the country.

Any idea why the engine check light might have come on?

FYI - try and buy on spec, condition, history, upgrades etc and put colour as low importance.
so few cars, don't limit your choice. if you buy on colour, could miss a good one

Occasionally they just throw a spontaneous fit, but in my experience it's rare...as in I think it has happened twice in four years. Read the codes if you can, but it may be something innocuous like battery or post-cat o2s. Equally, it could be something more expensive.

If you drove past and it wasn't there it will be in a lock up nearby. They told me they don't put all their cars on the forecourt. Will be best if you ring and make an appointment, I did that a few hours before turning up and they gave me the keys and let me drive it on my own which was very trustworthy of them. Told me just to have a nice drive, was out for 40 minutes ha.

If they say some guy called Lee was a time waster tell them that I did buy a Monaro and wasn't just wanting a test of one lol.
