Time to get myself a new Delphi aircon pump and thought I would see what it would cost from Vauxhall and wasn't pleasantly surprised, surprised yes. £1347,60 !! Ebay Australia between $420 to $500 and aprox $200 postage. Why such a mark up from Vauxhall?

It's just how dealer prices are.

Sometimes you do get bargains or good value at the dealers, but those cases are rare.

Air con ??? In england?? Unless one travels a lot of miles on a motorway in the midday sun,its pointless. Its nice if someone else paid to keep it working, but to me its dead weight.

I you cross reference the 1140104 LS2 part number from the ebay add on the delphi catalogue http://www.delphicat.com/WebForms/frmDelphiHome.as... you get TSP0155649 listed for a 5.7 Chevrolet Caprice then look up TSP0155649 on ebay you get http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TSP0155649-COMPRESSOR-V7... for £236 in the uk

obviously no guarantee the part is the same but may be worth investigating further

Air-con I would never be without it. I've just had mine serviced and its great. It's the only luxury I will have.
Mind you it is costly when it goes wrong.....sadly.

I have had a quote of $150 for postage from OZ today which is pretty good from the other side of the world.
Thanks for your input guys but I think I have a bigger problem than aircon pump now.
Jameshsv I might have to take a rain-check on the aircon pump for now.

presumably the same way every car without air-con does.

With hot air.
