Morning all,
Can someone please tell me how to remove/replace air con belt on an 04 cv8?
I've read a few threads mentioning removing front bumper and jacking front end up, does it involve going to this extent? And do I need to remove any tensioners apart from the main serpentine one?

Thanks
Alex

you dont need to remove any tensioners...or bumpers.

the tensioners are spring loaded automatic tensioners. iirc a 15mm spanner and loosen the tension and slip the belt off the pulleys..

the lower one of the 2 tensioners is the auto tension one for air con. cant remember if air con is in front or behind the aux belt..if its behind you need to remove the aux belt the tensioner is top left as you look at it. iirc.

Is fiddly but not difficult. Easier to remove the intake pipe to the throttle body as well. Air con belt is a 4pk1100 and serpentine one is 6pk1995 on the ls1. Anything else will be too tight and not so easy to put on!
