Hi guys, I purchased a Monaro VXR yesterday, awesome car and I will post a proper introduction thread once I manage to take some good pictures. It's been an amazing first day.

However, I noticed the driver's seat back is reclined quite far backwards, it reclines up and down with the electric motor but just stops on the way up. The furthest I can get it upright is still leaned back too much for my liking.

In comparison the passenger seat recliner has a full range of motion and goes almost bolt upright if needed.

Is it normal for the driver's seat back to be like this, or is there something causing the mechanism to stop half way up?

When I press the recliner button to go further upright there's no noise from the electric motor at all.

Welcome to the forum!

I had this on mine a couple of years back and put up with it for a 2-3 weeks. Applied a bit of pressure pushing the seat backwards from the top and heard a click. Worked after that!

Worth a go maybe.

Thanks for the insight. Did you push it backwards (i.e. More recline)? Was your stuck the opposite way to mine?

Did you have the electric motor switch activated whilst pushing it?

Where is the seat connector located? Will give that a go

Track back from the fuel door release lever along the side of the seat rail and you should find it behind a piece of trim. There's two connectors, the yellow one is the airbag. All IIRC!

It was partly reclined and I pushed it back to recline further when it clicked. I wasn't using the switch at the time.

Hopefully this or the other suggestion works smile

BEWARE!
Make sure the key is out of the ignition when you're anywhere near the seat connectors.
If the yellow air-bag connector is separated with the ignition on, the dash-board air-bag warning light will set.
The only way to re-set it is at a Monaro specialist Vauxhall dealer!
Or Monkfish?

Does anyone know which connector it is, there appear to be 2 both with yellow tape?

Yellow or yellow, which to cut?

The connectors I was trying to describe are on the outside of the seat.
