Coolant level switch?
Discussion
2004 monaro - has anyone had the coolant level switch die on them? My car has been telling me I'm low on coolant since an icy start this morning. I'm not!
Funnily enough I ordered a new radiator and hoses on Friday to overhaul the cooling system just as I feel paranoid about my originals (and lower temps/shininess appeal - already have a low temperature thermostat fitted). If the only way to get the coolant level sensor is a new placcy tank then I'll sort out something prettier (which unfortunately seems to mean deleting the level switch). I might get away with cleaning the tank/switch I suppose, or I could spend hundreds on pretty piece of aluminium that is less practical than the plastic original...

Got a mishimoto coming, but have misgivings about them...at least now the lifetime warranty can be dealt with from the UK, but I'm apprehensive about removing the level switch. I am working out how to fit one to the aeroflow tank Ade

You can buy new level switches and new coolant bottles. According to the service manual, you can clean the level switches out with compressed air.
I may be being thick, but where can you get the switches/bottles from? I can see dayco ones on oz ebay which will end up around £130 landed! It's such an ugly thing I'm not willing to spend much on it.
