Guys I need some advice

I have been running my 5.7vxr monaro for 20 months now as my daily driver. I love it, but feel it's time to change

The car is tip top and heavily monkfished with just about every mod you could throw at it bar a supercharger,, but after 21k of daily driving and spending a huge amount on running it I feel I need a car that I am not filling up every 4 days.

There does not seem to be any 5.7 vxr's for sale. What do you think I should advertise it for? Car has 90k on clock

Will be giving james a call at elite as I bought it from him originally.

I am thinking of leasing a vw golf r, or BMW m135i. What would you get?

BMW 135 everything.

There have been a few 5.7 vxr for sale recently have a look at completed listing on ebay. Sale price may be slightly out but will give a good idea. Drop me a pm if you want info on more pricing info.

You'll need to drive both the R and the 135M to know what you prefer - they'll both be rather sterile compared to the Monaro but (probably) lovely as a daily (for a while)...

I just can't get on with the looks of the 135 so that would rule it out for me, but no doubt it's a better steer.

Keep us posted

Iconic Aussie V8 muscle car to generic German box? That's going to be tough. Have you done the sums? Depreciation is the biggest expense which you won't pay if you lease but you won't own the car either. Monaro won't depreciate and given the Golf and BMW will average about 25 mpg, you won't gain much on fuel.

LPG conversion will cut your fuel cost significantly. Very clean too :-0

This man speaks sense. I am about to sell my VXR Monaro; I really have got to because of family reasons, and I'm getting a Golf GTI 5 door. I am fully aware it'll cost me far more in depreciation than the VXR ever would in fuel. By the way, I'd argue that by leasing you actually are paying the depreciation each month, but I know what you mean Wormus.
Mike.

Plenty of traders after these now so I would try a few for prices

When I bought the wife's Bmw new 5 years ago (which I'm changing this week) the salesman told me the monthly loan payments were not buying the car, just funding the depreciation! That thought kept (keeps) annoyed me so I kept overpaying and paid it off quicker!

I'm looking at getting into a monaro / vxr8 to start enjoying my daily drive and not get lots of depreciation!

If selling at trade price you might give a potential owner the chance to buy first. (F*** the traders);)

Moving to an m135i won't be a disappointment. I have enjoyed owning mine and it's been the best all rounder I have had. Great cars. Not tried a golf r but heard good things also. Mine will be traded in soon but it's been a struggle finding a capable replacement.

By way of an update I have just ordered a BMW m235i. Got a cracking lease deal. Looks like an 8-12 week delivery. Black with red leather and brushed aluminium trim non run flats and Michelin pilot super sports and the 8 speed box.

So time to start polishing up the car and awaiting auto glass master fitter to replace the windscreen curtesy of a black bird thinking a stone was an egg and the monaro was his life goal target.

James has given me some good advice on what to price up at so that's much appreciated.

I won't advertise on here as that's not fair and want to abide by the rules.

Will keep you posted.
