Wondering if anyone can help.
A friend as a 6.0 VXR (the car is currently stranded on my parents drive)
And it simply won't start

The car won't turn over, it's not your usual low battery starter motor clicking it simply is turn the key and nothing, not a sound.

Dash lights don't dim, starter motor doesn't even click.
Popped some jumps on it and it made no difference.
The car starts faultlessly all the time, about 10 minutes prior he had filled up with fuel and car started fine. It hasn't been slow turning or the starter making odd noises

Only thing is the rain today, could it be it's simply wet? The relay board has no cover in the engine bay.

Anyone else experienced this? Any help would be very helpful, as pushing a monaro on a gravel drive certainly isn't fun

Short the starter terminal with a screw driver etc. Probably easier done from underneath.

Fuel pump works I take it? So its just starter not just total ignition wipe out?

Hopefully we will be able to push it off the drive later once a couple more people turn up!
Then I can try and bump it.

I presume the pump is working, where it just won't turn over I can't check too much else

Try a reset

Lift the plastic cover on the wing behind the battery find the Second fuse in from the left of car when viewed from the front of vehicle...

To do a reset...

Switch everything off on ignition and remove key

Remove fuse

Turn ignition as if starting car

Ignore messages on dash

Switch off

remove key from ignition

Replace fuse

Try to start car In normal fashion and wish hard

Hope it works

Well I never

Put the clutch down!
The guy who owns it can't even remember putting the clutch down anytime he has started it before!

Glad it was something so simple!

It's funny, I depress the clutch as a matter of habit in whatever car, and don't really think about it. The weekend after I first got the Monaro I drove over to my Dad's for the compulsory "Let's have a go then".

Drove over, parked on his (also gravel) drive, he came out and had a poke around, sat in and went to start it... Exactly as you describe, absolutely nothing.

Cue me thinking it's magically died, after he tried a few more times, we decided I'd have a go, so I hopped straight in, pressed the clutch in and it suddenly dawned on me hehe
