Well folks, after nine happy years, and 30,000 thoroughly enjoyable miles, I've finally sold on my beloved CV8.

It's been an honour, not only to own a genuine piece of Aussie muscle, but also to get to know the fantastic community surrounding these cars. Over the years I've gleaned many tips and advice from the good people on this forum, which I'm sure must have saved me many a headache not to mention money thumbup It was also a pleasure meeting some of you at the occasional meet.

Also, a big thank you to Stuart, Alastair and the guys at AAS for keeping her in fine fettle!

So for now, it's goodbye, although I'll drop in now and again, because I'm a nosey bugger!

I wish you all the best and many happy miles in these very special cars. They will always be dear to my heart smile

BTW, don't worry, my new car is a big, black V8 coupe. Why would I drive anything less? biggrin

Damn you, Ian Callum! For designing such lovely cars cloud9

I'll make the next meet, providing I'm not working off course!

Actually, it's decent volume already, especially when fuse 19 is pulled to disable the active exhaust. But, I'll probably get used to it! hehe

Thanks Arnie. We've had Jags for the last 6 or 7 years and have been very impressed. Here's hoping for an enjoyable few years more smile

Always loved the XKR/XKR-R. Styling is fantastic, and they make a great noise too.

If hey had a manual option I might have gone for one. The 8sp ZF is excellent (Mrs mik's Disco4 has the same box - different "tune" of course,) but I do love my 3-pedals.

I hope I don't lose my hard earned 3 pedal skills, it took me a while to learn to heel and toe properly! biggrin

TBH the XKR has such a lovely flat torque band, it really doesn't need 8 gears. 6 is perfect, and auto rev matching downshifts on the ZF box are very good, even if it's 'old' tech smile

I'm humbled to have so many replies. Cheers guys smile

Oh, and Si, your car has one of the very best sounding LS motors I've ever heard thumbup How can I forget chasing you down to Malton a few years back?! bow

Hells Bells !!!

I was shocked to see that you parted with your Monaro Michael, but you did pick a bloody good replacement.
My brother had one of those for a while, they are a fantastic car. Sadly if had to go when he lost his job, but he still misses it.
Anyway I hope to catch up at AAS sometime.
Best of luck with that lovely machine of yours.....
