Ok, I know people like to talk about MPG and the difference between cars, mods, models.
So I have thought of a way to give a real review of how your car and how you drive it shows the real MPG.

So the rule is you must show a eading of over 20 gallons. This will negate people that hypermile and try to squeeze as much mpg out of the car.
Also give a representation of how it was driven. So for instance 'motorway miles all the way'.

So Ill go first. This is my car VXR8 61 plate E3, been tuned and has cat back zorst.
This was a combination of commuting on duel carriageways and town driving, with the occasional goofing around wink

So 22.2 Mpg with an average speed of 35 Mph

As they say. 'Show me the money' prove your stats over 20 gallons.

I recently did a round trip 560miles in total. And got 27.5 mpg.

It was mostly motorway. But was 3 up over half of that.

Worked out from actual fuel put back in the car.

I did 265 miles to 35 quid of fuel...
it would be ages before I used 20 gallons.

The only way to calculate mpg...is literally do just that.

Calculate from full tank to full tank fuel used and actual mileage done ( assuming odometer also reads correctly )

True, but not what the OP seemed to want.

I seem to get 22mpg when driven motorway sensibly, and 18mpg when a bit more vigorously. 14mpg in town. Seems a bit poorly. Could it be due to engine only having done 5k miles?

Genf that is.
