Hi guys.

Just washed the car this morning. Looks good from a distance but up close the paintwork really needs attention. Swirl city. I take the utmost care washing it too. Maybe the previous owner wasn't so careful! Anyway I've been toying for some time having the car wrapped. Seen some lovely examples. So the question is, where and how much for a full wrap? I'm in West Sussex.

Some guidance would be appreciated.

Cheers

Have you considered getting a proper detailing done ? That should remove the majority of the swirls and also cost less than a full wrap I imagine.

Just for reference I'm based in Southampton and got a quote by a company here called Monster Wraps to do my Monaro VXR and they were quoting a price of £1800 all in. I can't say how that would compare to the price for the R8 but I'd assume them not to be miles apart. I did a fair bit of digging and Monster Wraps seem to have a good reputation but you'll need to confirm that yourself (I didn't get mine wrapped. Yet)As suggested a full "paint correction" detail will be cheaper but the options for a colour change with a wrap are enormous (And I think my Monaro would look superb in Matt Charcoal!)

Cheers guys. A detail is a possibility but I just thought it might be a good opportunity to scratch the wrapping itch as it were. Sub 2k is not a bad shout. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check monster wraps out.

You are better off getting it sprayed than a wrap a good wrap costs about the same but at least a paint job is more repair able

Thanks for all the advice people. Have to say I'm edging away from a wrap now. Seems like results vary. Would be an expensive mistake if it all went pete tong. Like someone said I can just about deal with the swirls/stone chips.

I was looking to get my Golf R wrapped. I was recommended to boss dog by someone and also found out later that they did a relatives van which looks good. They're in Dorking, Surrey.

The quote I got was circa 1k. Having read things about cheap wraps vs expensive wraps I think these guys sit in the middle but not 100% sure. I'm planning to go take a detailed look at the relatives van and also visit their location and see what its like.
