Hi guys,

I will be changing my radiator later (vxr LS1), has anyone got any tips or advice on the easiest way to do it or how long it should take?

How easy is it to take the front bumper off?

Thanks

Lee.

There's no need to take the bumper off.

Rough guide: remove the plastic panel above the radiator, remove / unplug fan, undo 2 hoses and pull it out! Should get it done in an hour or two.

I did mine in about 2 hrs. I found it easier to remove the hoses from the engine side. When out do some rust proofing and check the power steering cooler pipe be carefull when un clipping the ac rad the bottom clips break easy

As above, AC parts unclip if I remember correctly.

It's easy enough once you remove the hoses and cosmetic panels... It just sits in place on a couple of rubber donuts and locating pins.

I think I entirely removed the top hose to give myself more room to work.

If in doubt, search for something like 'LS1 commodore radiator replacement' and I'm sure you'll find a decent step by step guide.

Which radiator did you go for? I notice there are very cheap ones stateside, but may be crap.

OE or mishimoto? Now we have a domestic supplier for the mishi I'm tempted by it. There have been a few US write-ups on fitting the mishi if you got that one.

I got OE, the mishi one will need some alterations to the housing I was told from MF.

Managed to do it in 45 mins! can't believe how easy it was.
