Ok, so I am currently an E39 M5 owner. I am tempted to look at VXR8's (I prefer 4 doors). I see there are two options, a 6.0 and 6.2. Are there any real differences other than 200cc's?

What is involved in taking one of these upto circa 700bhp? I am currently looking at taking my M5 to 650bhp via a supercharger, but the VXR8 appeals on many levels, with one of them being a newer more modern car. While my M5 doesnt feel old, it would just be nice to have something younger.

Thanks.

LSA supercharger (1.9-litre) would do it. You'd need forged pistons, fuel system, etc. You'd be looking at £10K on top of the price if the car. Popular approach is straight swap for an LSA crate unit, which is probably a better approach.

Would that be on the 6.0 or the 6.2? What does an LSA engine cost? Does that £10k include the sale of the standard engine?

Surely a charge VXR8 is more awesome? If I did I'd be going for the RK kit

Been looking more into a VXR8. Getting very tempted. What are they like to live with on a daily basis?

Great cars, done 40k miles over 4 years with no issues in my previous TVS2300 R8 and it was running 500bhp at the rears

why not just fit a later engine to your car
