Hi guys, my monaro vxr has has a hi biting point on the clutch. There is no clutch slip. Ive changed the fluid and no difference made. The car has only done 22k just woundering what the problem may be. Spigot bearing comes to mind as this can be age related rather mileage. It goes into gear fine when warmed up. Any thoughts besides drive it more.

Could be the slave.

Get it looked at before it goes pop.

If it is the slave you can get the f body camaro slave cheap (rockauto probably) - have to swap over a fitting though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a worn clutch is a low biting point , have you lost any fluid from the clutch reservoir if you have then it's a leaking slave , you can part refresh the fluid by changing the reservoir fluid and pumping the clutch about 30 to 50 times , do this 3 or 4 times, on the other side of things is every thing working ok ? And has clutch height changed recently or have you only just noticed it ?

Sounding more like the clutch could need replaced.

Most hydraulic issues etc end up as either low biting point or dragging not shifting properly.

Thanks to your thoughts. The slave was changed about six years ago. Idrive a few different cars every week perhaps thats why i think its a bit high. I dont drive it hard and with only 22k miles on the clock i would not think it was clutch wear. My mrs said its ok to her, maybe its just me its due for a service and mot in a couple of months so will get it checked out by the fish

If it's driving ok and no sign of any leaks from clutch reservoir or underneath and its not slipping I would assume it's ok , it sounds normal , I can't see a clutch wearing out in the space of time , it sounds like the difference between one car and the next , every time I have had a clutch go it's been very obvious with symptoms , slave was leaking once and again you can't miss the signs of that when it starts failing

The adjuster in the clutch has "over adjusted". It not a problem if it doesn't slip though.

My monaro has a really high bite point despite the clutch not slipping. I was told they tend to be a wee bit high anyway.
