Lazy passenger door locking on VXR8
Discussion
My VXR8's door lock is a bit slow to lock or unlock. Usually a couple of attempts makes it finish its job.
As the replacement mechanism is £175, I am keen to look for a lower cost fix.
I am assuming that either the mechanism has worn or the solenoid has bad electrical contacts or it gets full or crud. Has anyone any experience and may be able to cast some expertise on this?
I am guessing (car is in garage being serviced) that this is only a few pressed steel and nylon parts operated by a solenoid, so not a lot involved and probably common with other GM vehicles.
Thanks, Steve

I've had issues with both rear doors. See HERE
Lubricating helps for a while, but the issue returns.
I've had two new lock units (with new solenoids) sitting in the garage for over a year now ready to fit - but I've got into a standard routine of 3-presses (lock, unlock, lock (parp!)) when I leave the car, and this does the job.... Hence my laziness fitting new units...
