Hi All, I have a pair of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/272009914026 fitted as sidelights with no issues/errors. I've tried a pair in the rear numberplate bulbs but am getting bulb failure warning messages via the canbus monitoring. If I only use one led and one old style filament bulb I get no warning. I can swap the bulbs from holder to holder and still get no error. Only issue when both fitted. To make it more complicated a couple of times with 2 LEDs fitted it hasn't thrown an error. Anyone else tried LEDs in the numberplate illumination?

You'll probably find they are also disabling your cruise control! I think you'll find the answer is you need to add load resistors, but I haven't done that myself...I'm mostly running LEDs, but not the numberplate lights.

I fitted a cheap set on one side as I fitted a reversing camera in the other.

Lights gong through dash as a rear light fail every time they turned on. In the end I swapped out for a regular bulb. I was going to order some Cree bulbs from horizon LED as these have built in resistors apparently.

Thanks all, I assume the front sidelights are monitored as well. Maybe front , tail and number plates are all on the same circuit being monitored. No biggie but personally like the cleaner look of whiter lights.

I've been using LED rear numberplate bulbs for a year now and not seen any errors popup. Maybe it's the bulb that's the issue?

I'm using 501 Twenty20 bulbs from http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/
