I'm considering a Monaro VXR as my next purchase and wondered if anyone knows of the above car.

The thing that concerns me is that the MOT history shows an MOT at 53,642 miles on June 2014 with an advisory of low tread on offside rear tyre.

The next MOT is then October 2015 at 53,672 miles with an advisory of offside front and rear tyres low.

So in just 30 miles the front tyre has gone from OK to low? Either it's an honest mistake or I suspect the mileage has been altered. The last service stamp is 2013.

Any advice on whether I should steer clear or go and have a look at this car?

Hi and welcome, you aren't the first person to pick this up as another person looking contacted me to see if I knew of it or had sold the car before and knew of any history but sorry I dont.

It could be an issue or could be an honest mistake of different testers or tyres etc. it could be something to be concerned about only if it bothers you but only you can decide that

If the Mot's have been done at different garages you would be amazed what one tester will advise and another will not, plus it also does depend one when VOSA last did an audit on the garage, the car is for sale from a dealer, ask for the previous owners contact details and ask them, buy on condition, I'm all for the testers giving you the heads up about something thats wearing and soon to need attention, a lots down to interpretation of the testers manual and which side of the bed he got out of ETC. A lot of testers employ common sense, some do not.

If you like the car, have a look. But before you buy get a professional appraisal and look at the corner with the worn tyre to make sure its not hit something at speed and damaged the suspension. There are several people/companies on here capable of doing that for you.

Asking that money for it they could have at least given it a wash! There's a stunning looking Silver one on Autotrader at the minute for £12.5k

Hi James, it was me that spoke with you on Friday evening about Monaro's. Thanks for taking the time to give me advice. Hopefully I'll get a chance to come see you soon.
I did have a listen to the Magnaflow exhaust videos on YouTube and decided it's a car with a Wortec that I want. Please let me know if you come across any Monaro's with Wortec and Ripshifter in the mean time.

I've decided to pass on the Nottinghamshire car for now, the search continues...
