Importing/shoping pros&cons

Whatever price it is, convert to Sterling at 2.0859/£ then add £3500 for shipping to the value, then work out 22% of what you have, and this will be your duty.
Next, add the duty to the previous figure, and work out 20% - which will be your VAT.
Add the duty, the VAT, the shipping costs, and about £3k for SVA to your original price, and if it still seems cheap, start looking at shipping lines to bring it across for you.

Good grief it's only a 1980 old Toyota think it would be cheaper to drive it back :-(

Ah, well that's a bit different. 0% duty and 5% VAT with a binding tariff agreement, which will cost around £50 - as long as it's being imported for occasional use on the road - to and from shows and is original - brakes, engine, interior, steering and axles (when it arrives).Ste.
SVA is a lot easier too, so won't cost as much.
