Hey guys,

I've got the AP brakes on my Monaro and the rear pads need to be replaced.

Can anyone advise what options are out there for replacement pads and any recommendations? I can't find the pad part number so it's proving difficult to see what's available other than the standard DS2500 replacements.

I think the rear discs are still OK, but anyone know the minimum servicable thickness?

Cheers.

Wow! According to my AP leaflet it says new discs are 32mm with minimum being 31mm....Not much meat indeed!

eek
Is that for the fronts? I tried to get a micrometer over the rears but it was only slightly too small as it only went up to 26mm. They can't be 32mm new as well can they?

I'm not sure, in the AP product info booklet that I have it just shows a technical diagram and doesn't state front or rear from what I can see? I thought the same, strange to be the same thickness all round.confused

Give Paul a shout for some Carbon Lorraine pads, he should be familiar with the fitment. Miles better than the DS2500's both hot and cold, but especially cold where I always found the DS2500's just felt dead. Although he may well be at Autosport show til Monday or so

Unfortunately not, sorry. The owners manual doesn't state any part no's and the only ones I have are stated on the technical sheet for the full kit:
Vauxhall Monaro VXR Aftermarket Wheel Kit Number CP7045-1000:VXR

On the invoice from Monkfish it is just a code for the full kit also - BK1

I'm going to be ordering new discs and pads soon from Monkfish.

I've found the following on the DBA website for monaros with AP six piston kit

Front disc DBA 52024
Front ferodo pad no. 3084

Rear disc DBA 42025
Rear ferodo pad no. 3085

I've not confirmed the part numbers anywhere else yet, but if they're correct then there's a few more options for pads and discs. If anyone knows theyre correct or otherwise I'd be happy to hear.

The rear pads are apparently the same as the fronts on an MG TF 160...
