Hello all,

Just thought i'd drop back into the forum and say hi.

After selling my LS1 VXR a little over a year ago, it didnt take long for me to miss it. It's one of the very few cars I had real doubts over selling after having some properly good times in it...

So after another couple of cars inbetween i've ended up back in a Monaro, this time an LS2 VXR.

Seems like you cant stay away!

I've got a fair to-do list with the new one to get it up to scratch so it'll be good to get involved with the forum again and get to some meets asthey get started when the weather brightens up.

Your original was far more collectible.

Looks lovely. Did you get it off eBay?

Cheers

Switchable wortec and tubular headers. (Although I don't think the switchable valves are still working...)

It makes me laugh every time I start it. An exhaust really is essential on these. What a noise!

Are you still in the LS1 VXR?

Thanks. Yeah it was on eBay for a little while.

Im actually not a fan of the black bits so theyll be going back to red on the bodywork and silver for the wheels.

It's a little rough right now but theres a good car underneath. Plan is to get it back into top condition.

My first one was awesome. Loved that car, don't know about collectability though. I think that's a long way in the future.

The only real drawback with the new one is the lack of boot space and an extra couple of hundred quid a year in road tax. Other than that I prefer it to the LS1.

Bet you wonder how you went without one before haha! Still got it, new battery fitted today as it decided to give up when I tried to leave work last night though. Typical!

Yeah, I had a couple of nice cars in between, but still missed the Monaro.

Nice one. LS1 VXR is the connoisseurs choice. Especially in silver. tongue out

Shame you gonna change the black bits as I think it gives it a different look to other red monaro's

The plan to paint them red has stalled for now - when attempting to remove them today I found someone has used mastic in addition to the screws and bolts to hold the spoiler on.

The black bits may be staying a little while longer!

It's actually growing on me the more I see it to be fair.

The mastic may be to help stop the VXR problem of the centre support for the spoiler moving up and down, scuffing the bootlid surface.
