I noticed just after buying the car that the rear tyres are 285/30 and not 275/35. I presume they might have been cheaper in this size/profile? However they do make the speedo over read a little.

I need new tyres shortly so wondering which size to go for. Currently bridgestone RE050A all round.

Cheers,
Mike

If anything that will read 3 mph less or thereabouts.

You need

Front: 245/40/19
REar: 275/35/19

I'd guess it was down to availability at the time as opposed to cost (?)

You're right - a 285/30 will provide gearing approx 3% lower than std, so your speedo will over-read a smidge more.

I'd personally go back to a 275/35, as even a 295/30 gives gearing approx 2.5% lower than std.

edit: if you stick with the Bridgestones (which I really like) then be aware there are several versions. They don't make the OEM RE050ATZ any more, but I can confirm that I can't tell any difference between it and the RE050ABZ (Aston DB9 specific).
