I'm about to start doing some interior work and I want to take the time to repair the drive seats which has about a cm or so of play in it, I will also be replacing the speakers all round. There are guides for replacing speakers which is all well and good however in terms of seats, does anyone have a guide for removing the front and rear seats? In other cars I own some have locking pins for preventing seat belt tensioners going off etc, having never removed the seats in the Monaro before is there anything I need to know? any gotchas?

Rear seats easy, just awkward to get the bits out as there is not much room between the seats and the door opening - you could of course remove the fronts first. Front seats are heavy, although you do not need to remove the seat runners, which saves a bit of weight.

Piece of piss:

rear seat - two catches, then lift front and pull toward you to remove. Two bolts on seat back, then lift up and toward you to remove.

front seats - four bolts on each, under the plastic. Undo connectors for seat belty bits and airbags.

Oh, and if you start the car or turn ignition on without the front seat(s) in, it'll activate the airbag light and you'll need Tech 2 or similar to reset.

That's a good save, thanks for the info.

Think you can reset the airbag light with VZclustermod now (Sturdy should know for sure) - best not to light it in the first place though.
