Looking to try and stop some of the rattles and vibrations when the stereo is up loud (ie so I can hear it over the exhaust), I have Infinity speakers front and back (but OEM subs) and want to try and sort this out - what is the best material to use (I've seen Dynamat but fecking hell it's expensive) and what areas in the car have other people in the past covered?

i have done a fair amout of sound proofing thought my monaro due to my audio install, and like all good people i cant leave it alone.

i have put sound deadining in a lot of places. i.e

the whole boot floor
the whole of the rear deck
behind the rear seats
behind the rear door cards
some in the front doors (ran out)

i use silent coat now days its cheaper then dynomat and works just as well look it up. a lot of the monaro was done with cheaer stuff but it works,

do i get rattles yes some. there mostly from the cover over the rear deck but that's because i have 2 8 inch subs in it..

Resurrect a old thread smile

Just been sound dampening the doors on the ute, i also used silent coat and have managed to cover the whole of the inside of the outer door skin

Will also be replacing the clear plastic sheet with one piece of sound deadening to cover the whole of the inner door skin

Gonna make some speaker brackets so should be able to get 16.5cm speakers fitted, just need to decide on which speakers to go for

I still need to do this to mine. I used infinity reference components before and was very pleased with the sound quality.

Yeah i had infinity in my old monaro and just been looking at them again smile

It's not hard to do the sound dampening but just a bit fiddly, if you need a hand let me know
