Boot solenoid buggered, tried to access via cable under rear seat headrest....seems to be unattached as it came out too far. Can you gain access to boot by removing rear seats??

If its 06 facelift (smaĺl boot) the fuel tank will be in the way from rear access

I believe it might be, smaller tank fitted to give more room in the back. That's a bummer then but thanks, may have to bore through from behind number plate. Preciousmetal, very appropriate!!

I think you will find there is only one way in and that involves drilling a hole behind the rear number plate they are others here that have done it and will send you a how to via PM

Mate already had a hole drilled behind the rear plate when his solenoid failed. Mine hadn't, but I did find Gary Numan's face airbrushed under the carpet. Current VXR doesn't sound quite as good, but is a bit quicker and starts when hot.
