How much are VXR8 discs and pads?

Mine are getting towards their end of life (~3mm left on inside pads). What are the parts cost, please?

The last set were DBA in 2012.

Around £1300 for discs and pads from Monkfish. (DBA's and AP/Ferrodo pads). Easy enough to price up on their website.

Also worth reading this thread if you want to consider cheaper alternatives. (You'll see my comments on performance on p6)

Fitting none branded brake kits like those on eBay could be money not well spent, just my opinion of course.

Function perfectly well Mick. Neil fitted mine all round few months back.

Just because they don't come from the superior UK suppliers doesn't make them incorrect or dangerous, quite a few owners have this set up fitted and I haven't known anyone to say they are inferior to the OEM set up.

I didn't realise they had been used by others inc you and been a good purchase with no hassles and half the price of DBA gear.

Yep the Aus supplier is hassle free, the thread on VXRO is worth a read to see peoples experiences with the set up.

Huge savings on UK prices aswell which is a bonus.

Yep the karting, I keep promising to turn up to one of 007s meets but for some reason its always on the same date as something else.

You going to get some new pins too? As per the other thread - I don't think the additional anti-rattle shims are necessary with the pads that come with this package.

I was not proposing to, the last set of discs (rears) were fitted by Monkfish and they had the parts needed.

My car is due for a service about spring time (when pads will be even more worn) and it is likely I will re-visit Monkfish as I've been going there for years.

I'm hoping that standard monaro disks aren't too horrendous, under heavy braking for the first time the other day and the steering wheel shook really badly... never noticed it before as I've been driving like miss daisy!!!!!

My old car N7 VXR. Normal for them, drive them hard and brakes are definitely not so good, try a nice bend next at 125mph for an even stranger drifting feeling and welcome to the world of upgrades ££££.
