hiya guys,
Today i tried to start my car (sunday evening) , and its not been started since Fri, on Friday it took a while for the car to turn over, it did that twice. Today i had to pop and when i clicked unlock the door unlocking noise didn't sound right, it was very slow, then i tried to turn it over, and nothing, the only thing that happened is that the screen in the console went a bit mad, white screen flickering. None of the gauges said anything. I took the key out and locked her up the old fashion way, but noticed the screen never went off. I thought id unhook the battery but couldn't open the boot as neither the key fob or the unlock button in the glove box would work.

So

Is this a case of just the battery dying or do you think it may be something more serious

and....

how do you open the boot when neither of the other 2 ways work

Cheers
Iain

Hello mate I'm sure they is a yellow handle in the boot behind one of the seats that releases the boot. Might be wrong tho mate.
The other bit does sound like a battery problem and maybe the key fob battery.

Pull up the rear [driver's side] head rest to find that yellow pull handle. But be verrrrrrry gentle with it.

Centre head rest push the button, this will open the centre ski hatch, yellow ring pull inside on the rear of the seats.

Do VXR8's have access to the boot from within the car ? I always thought that was just an arm rest as opposed to a proper ski hatch........ Intrigued smile

Yes the release button is under the centre headrest. The centre seat back folds forward.

Very useful when you take a trip to Ikea and purchase a Billy bookcase that is 2 meters in length while flat-packed. With the ski-hatch, you can actually get it all the way in the VXR8 boot, and with one end pushed diagonally all the way through to the front passenger seat, you can then fully shut the boot biggrin

There is also a button in the glove box, top right near the facia.

That would help as with the Monaro if I go fishing I've gotta put the rods in the car.
