Guys,

Recent service I had the coolant changed, now I have lost heat on the drivers side but ok on the passenger side. Any ideas? Hope the heater core is not blocked as looking at the manual all the console & facia needs stripping out!

If the coolant has recently been changed, maybe there's an air lock in the system?

Like Araf mentioned, could be airlock, does the R8 have dual heating ? I cant remember.

It could just have the one heat exchanger, and duct the air into the dual zones as necessary, or it could have two circuits.

As the coolant has been changed, I would check the radiator fluid level when it's cold, bring it up to temperature with the cap off, to chase out any air, anyway, as it won't cost you anything apart from your time.

Looks like my problem is small servo motor that controls a flap in the heater box.
Bad news is about 6 hours work to get at it plus part not stocked in UK. Monkfish are sending me a schematic of the heating system.
May just buy some fleecy trousers if £500 to change a £10 motor!!

Those jobs are the worst - I'm guessing that's why Monkfish sent the exploded diagram, rather than telling you to bring it in. wink

One tip I have learned on the heating system is:
To reset all vents & controls for the VXR8 heating & ventilation system.
1. Turn on ignition.
2. Press & hold the heated rear screen button for 5 secs.
3.You will then hear all the vents & servo motors resetting.

I am currently giving this a go but so far no joy.

After a Google search, this thread popped up. I have a similar problem. With mine, the passenger and drivers sides blow hot or cold exactly as required, but the rear is stuck on full heat constantly. This causes the centre tunnel, armrest section to get roasting hot!!

the centre console is not that difficult to remove , i had to take mine out to fit new carpets as mine did not come with carpets , as it was intended as a pace car so none fitted or they were just removed
