Poll / Question - 2 Piece Discs/Brakes - VXR8

If you were looking for 2 piece discs, would you want the bell housing in a certain colour?


The 3x options would be:-


Silver :- Because it looks standard, and you can see any cracks forming quickly.

Black :- Because a lot of manufacturers use it, and it looks cool.

Gold :- Because race cars use this method, and again looks cool.


Reason I ask is because I'am creating some bell housing to fit off the shelf AP Discs, so that they can be bought and supplied in the UK.

Would these discs fit a monaro vxr with the 6 piston AP callipers?

I need a front set soon and it looks like it will be around £1000 from monkfish. Are their likely to be any cost savings?

You know you can buy the discs on their own and swap the old bells over?

Did not know you could do that. Been saving up since my last service as I know it's going to hurt, but always happy to hear it will hurt a bit less

I'll post up more pictures this weekend, as I fit them to the car.

I have worked so that the discs can be bought off the shelf :-) Which is a great result.

Ah - that's cool then. I couldn't afford $64k on discs.

I would have thought around £770 delivered for that set up would be reasonable with AP rotors and AP bobbin kits.

Are the Bells "Hard Anodised" in champagne, black or grey/anthracite?

Those bells look quite well made. :-)
