Just had my windscreen replaced by National Windscreens in Basildon where they did a top class job, after cutting out broken screen fitter showed me the screen area not one mark to the bonding area , seen to many fitters scratch the paint with blades then cover it up with bonding promoter paint, so well chuffed and highly recommend them. Fitter travels round different branches doing prestiege work.

I desperately need a new screen as mine is incredibly scratched (original screen) but its not damaged so cant go through insurance, not sure if I'd want it to its another premium they add on the renewal robbing stewards. How much is a screen independently and who would you get to fit it ?

You should have swept it into a bag, and then claimed on your glass insurance. hehe

Ade - when they get that bad, the slightest stone impact can cause a big crack. I sure hope that doesn't happen to yours and force you to go through your insurance.

Yup. Especially when by doing so, it'll just add to the rising cost of motor insurance. It'd be awful for us all to know that we're inadvertently paying for it.

Glassman's in Herts, and you're in W Mids? I'm sure he can point you towards a supplier, if he can't help - and I bet he wouldn't nick the paintwork, taking the old screen out. smile

i had a screen fitted by paul (glassman) earlier this year different car to the monaro but i have to say i have never seen anyone enjoy there job so much and put everything right, im sure the screen was better fitted than when the car left the factory, i cant recommend him enough. i have had a screen fitted by one of the major companies before that begins with A and they where shocking hence why i tracked down Paul and ill never go anywhere else again...
