every time i pull up the hand brake the ash tray pops open is there a catch i need to replace

Its a spring clip, I'm guessing either the spring has lost its tension or one of the retaining tabs have broken off the lid. Doesn't look like its a separate part through, see below 24-27, I'm sure you can find a generic part to fit but you'll need to remove the old one first.
