Hello and yes same problem and everything seems to work ok stereo and aerial wise but it decides when it wants to work , I've considered an aerial booster but it's not a normal fitting for an aerial , the aerial connection is behind the trim in the front passenger footwell area it connects into left side of radio , if you find a solution then shout up , I want to keep original stereo

mine is pretty poor too. even in areas that should have good reception I get variable strength signal, a bit like 'white noise', I did wonder if it was interference or poor earthing somewhere but I haven't started looking yet.

Hi there are posts down under they are saying a poor earth can be the problem but it sounds like a head liner down job , some times in car electrics can cause issues usb chargers etc , I've iust bought an aerial booster and wiring from eBay for about 10£ so I will see how it goes

Well I have the aerial it's says it's got an amplifier built in , I thought I had correct plugs but did not so I've ordered up a female fakra to female iso connection , Iso being the normal car aerial plug , I did not want to cut original wiring but just try a different aerial , if it works with a different aerial then I will try joining both aerials up and then plugging into the stereo , there are two fakra connections in the stereo but only one used so maybe try connecting to un used stereo connection , I believe from au sites one may be am and one fm , it mentions poor earth connection in the roof aerial but that's more drastic surgery to remove the roof lining to find out , I will see what happens and update when I know more

Well an update , I got no where trying to sort it out , I bought another aerial and put both into one aerial socket and also tried aerial boosters but got no where with that , is it therefore more a stereo issue , any one who had upgraded there stereo may be able to answer that ? I did not try any thing in the second aerial socket as I'm assuming only one socket for the fm connection plus it looks like a different plug
