Hi.
Its a long time since I looked here, I'm just getting over the trauma and rehabilitation. And even now I can feel my self welling up. Let me explain...
August 2013 I traded my 07 Monaro (reg ending AYD) for a Mondeo. Its a long story and not worth listening to unless your a Psychiatrist. I believe it was moved off to Scotland. I'm wondering where it went to and whether it is/was/could be up for sale again.

Has any one seen it out on the road? Or know someone who might have it?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi. Well, if you don't recognise KB07AYD, its red VXR smile with some red Hammerite under the leading edge of the bonnet, and no badge on the back, because some '******* kid' nicked it not long after I got the beast.

I`ve been looking at Monaros and that reg rings a bell. I think I may have seen it for sale.

I saw a sales PDF at a garage in Ewloe, of the car, but the garage where I traded it (Winsford) and the garage in Ewloe both said it went to scotland. Dont get me wrong, I'm not going to pay a stupid price for it, but if its up for sale at a reasonable price, then i'm interested for sure. I had it for 5 years before reluctantly moving it on. frown

Best thing I ever drove.

I know where your old VXR is as it's parked outside my house! Had it 4 months now.

Lovely car. If I didn't have a growing family and the need for 4 doors and plenty of room for baby seat I would have something like this.

Found then. smile

I was just about to suggest looking on the build register thread, if you knew the build number.

Don't let that stop you - there are quite a few owners with baby seats in their Monaros smile

Still haven't tried that out in mine yet. The missus is adamant it's too loud to let the small in there, but I disagree, outside yes, inside, it's just a bit drony and they like a bit of white/background noise so should be fine!! Maybe this weekend I'll finally take the nipper out and start getting some petrol in his veins.....

If he nods off on the journey, does he sleep with one eye open, clutching his pillow tight? hehe

thought I recognised the full reg no. I sold it to Euan (speedtwelve) earlier this year. it came in from a chap in Runcorn, Cheshire who had it 12 months. Before it was up in Scotland but dont who or where or if that was the OP

Although it only has 2 doors, it does have 4 seats. Its a bit of a faf putting the kids child seat in the back, and I think it does have those anchor points fitted, but the fun far outweighs the pain.

I take it you noticed my post above? I'm the current owner of your old Monaro.

Cheers.

It's great. I don't miss my previous TVR at all, as I can get the same V8 noise and performance in something that feels like it was built in an actual car factory rather than a garden shed!

The big surprise was the handling. I've had plenty of light-ish weight RWD sports cars over the years, some under 1000kg, and I reckoned the Monaro was going to corner like a WW2 German pocket battleship. It disguises its mass (and size) very well, and I've had some great blats in it this summer.

Not sure how long I can resist the lure of a Wortec exhaust; it's a bit quiet after my Chimaera...

I did notice, thanks for letting me know its still going strong. I have been looking for some photos I took while I had it. It would be really nice to follow its history in pictures. If previous owners could put a picture or two, showing it off, or some special time with it, that would be really great. I'm sure I still have a print or web save, of the original advert. Strangely enough, it was not advertised with that number plate. I'll look for the ad in the weekend, and post my first pictures. I first sat in one, a silver one, in a garage in Owswestry, it fitted me perfectly. I saw on for sale in Frosts, I think, in Brighton with 300 mile on the clock, phoned up and put 500 quid deposit on it. I didn't collect it for 2 months. Got a lift down to pick it up. The bloke said, have you test driven a few, I said.. Errr nope. I said Jeremy Clarkson says they're OK so they must be OK. Paid the extortionate balance, and drove it home with a very big grin, all the way. Thank god for cruise control.
