My AP brakes intermittantly make a high pitched squealing noise, and also a ~ 2khz 'tone' when braking at low speeds / low pedal pressure when coming to a stop. When I fitted them there were no shims supplied so I made sure I applied plenty of copper grease to the back of the pads.

Any suggestions for fixing the problem? Are there shims available for the AP 6 pot front / 4 pot rear setup?

No shims supplied with my set only anti-rattle clips.
What pads are you using? .

kit was supplied with "DS2500" pads (Ferodo?)

No problem with how the brakes work - they are fantastic - but this 'tone' noise that they make is a bit annoying because it's rather loud! I made sure that the anti-rattle springs were fitted the right way too - rotation of disc matches arrow on spring.

The six pots have 3 different sized pistons - big/medium/small - I rekon it's the pads oscillating at the small end with low pedal pressure / low vehicle speed. I've tried putting more grease behind the pads - hardly any difference.

Going to have to find some shims ??
