I've been looking at for a new car. I've had TVR's (Too worrying...not unrelaibale..just more like a kid than a car) and am at present driving a Honda CTR...(great to drive for a bit of fun, but has less torque than my food mixer). So I've seen a HOLDEN HSV GTS 255 LS1 up for sale in about the right price range for me.. Can anyone tell me a bit more about these cars...performance, cost etc

Cheers

Tompob, looks like you hail from Essex like myself and also a fellow ex-TVR man. I have owned an HSV for over 3 years and it's in the Pistonheads classifieds now.MY Hotmail account is down at the mo' but feel free to call me for any info about the cars and you can also have a look at www.hsvdriversclub.co.uk
Chers and happy xmas to all,
Andy

I join in the TVR NE club - those guys are VERY friendly. I've become known as the TVR back up vehicle - nuff said.

They aren't a 2 seater sports car but an HSV can certainly hold its own. The suspnsion is set up better for UK roads and can run with them no problem.

The HSV with 4 adults and overnight luggae has certainly suprised a few guys up here.

Go for iy, you won't regreet it, and TVR must be as common as in Essex????? HSV's are rare anywhere in the UK!!!!

Had mine for 2 yrs buying at 3 yrs old, very sound motor indeed, a 'true GTS' IMHO and the potential for loads of power if you go down the tuning route.

Should you buy one your only initial complaint might be that it is too quiet!
