Can anyone tell me if the Vauxhall Monaro alarm is Thatcham 1 security standard.

I have been asked this by my insurance company??

Any help would be most appreciated.

I think you should be useing a company that understand the car Dan_theman seems to have one. I know that my HSV VX does not have a Cat one but my insurance company reconises the HSV alarm.

Vauxhall told me that, based on the number of Monaro sales, and their profit margins, it would not be worth their time to get the alarm system certified by Thatcham (would cost them hundreds of thousands apparently ...) I had the alarm system checked out by the co. that fitted tracker to mine, and was told it's actually a very good standard alarm/immobiliser system. My ins co did not require a thatcham alarm.
