Hi guys hoping someone here has advice.

My vxr8 has today developed a prob.

On start up it labourers to fire and when it does the 'check engine' symbol appears along with the stability off sign.

It seems to tick over ok though.

Any ideas?

Thx in advance

Not overly helpful but try a forum search. I just had the abs and traction light issue and I saw a couple of threads with your problem whilst I searched that. Sorry I didn't read them but they may point you in the right direction.

Sounds like battery to me or lack of charge on start up. If you check battery level or put it on charge amd then restart. Low battery level will cause it to run rough / check eng light and TC off

As above.

Hold down the left steering wheel thumbwheel as you turn on the ignition to enter engineering mode. Scroll to battery - see how much life it thinks it has.

Is that another of those hidden things?

Also don't take centre pod volt meter as 100% accurate

Now its just clicking rather than turning over and the battery is showing 58%.

Does this suggest a battery issue?

Think that's your problem. Won't start on 58% frown

58% isn't too bad, so it may just need a charge. With a conditioner ideally.

Use the charge point under the bonnet.

Breakdown peeps on way out so hopefully they can charge it for me.

Thanks guys

Update: Breakdown man reckons it's the starter motor as his efforts to charge the battery made no difference.

Anyone know a decent place to sort it near to Cannock, Staffs?
