mmmm... a rather nice ute that!
Finally found a picture of your car EH*ROB in Classics magazine...really just half a picture as your car is at a car show on the IOW.
I will have to get a picture of my friends car on here. His is an EH Special, whatever that means. I get confused because from my understanding the EJ Holden which looks similar from the front actually came out before the EH !!!

G'Day motomk,

I'll have to look at the Mag to see the picture. I was with the Paul, Jagsy & Duncan from this forum that day, those pic's are on the Club web site under Events/ 11/09/2004@IOW.

I'm not an expert on the EJ-EH Holden, but with help from my many books have this information.

EJ was Introduced from July 1962 to Aug 1963. Models included the Sedan & Station Sedan ( Estate to the English). Jan 1963 to Aug 1963 th Panel Van & Coupe Utility ( Ute).

STANDARD; The base model gave you a six cylinder, six passenger car for just a few pounds above many a four cylinder, five passenger car.

SPECIAL; These came with a few extras like Chrome stips, Special badges & a new range of two-tone colours in sparkling Magic-Mirror acrylic lacquer paint - the fade resistant finish that needs no poishing for up to three years.

A Premier model was introduced for the first time in the EJ Holden.

PREMIER; The Premier was a lovely car & still is. It came with irridescent metallic paint, finished in exclusive GMH Magic-Mirror acrylic lacquer. The Prem also had;

Individual contoured front seats ( Bucket)
Leather upholstery
Thick pile carpet
Centrally placed console
Rear seat centre arm rest
Front air heater-demister
Door-pull arm rest with lift-up handles incorporated on all doors( only on front doors with other models)
De-luxe instument panel with sponge padding and white steering wheel
Dual horns
Two-speed windshield wippers with windshield washer
Glove box and luggage compartment lamps
Parking brake warning lamp
Anti-glare rear vision mirror
Chrome plated door scuff plates
Narrow-band whitewall tyres with chrome wheel trims
Chrome stips and engine hood ornament.

The Premier was also avalible with the new Hydra-Matic automatic transmission

The EH was introduced from Aug 1963 to Feb 1965, the Panel Van & Ute continued until July 1965.

The EH was basicly the same car with a few body changes such as,
The grille & engine hood
The squared-off rear quarter panels & tail lights.

The biggest change to the EH model though was the new RED motor,

149cu,in. ( 2.4Ltr ) - 100 b.h.p.
179cu,in. ( 2.8Ltr ) - 115 b.h.p.

The EJ had the old GRAY motor that had been used from the first Holden in 1948.

138cu,in. ( 2.2Ltr ) I think ! - 75 b.h.p.

Hope this helps with out borring you. A good Web Site to look at is EH Holden Car Club of Victoria;

www.ehholden.com.au/

Regards
Rob.

Rob, is that ute actually in the UK yet? have you spoken to the company in Edinburgh?
I noticed that all the pics of the vehicles on their site were taken in Australia, and id be surprised if they had imported them all on the off chance they could make a decent profit on them there.
Here, there would be considerable interest in alot of them, but in the UK, i doubt if they would be of much interest or meaning to most people...aside from the EH ute ofcourse.

G'Day V-Car,

Don't know if the cars are here in the UK yet mate. But my guess is that when some one buy's a car they will then import it, or two at a time to save cost.

I think some of them will sell ok here, as they are unique to this country. Ute's are just starting to take of here and I think they will be popular.

HAVE A LOOK AT THE SITE NOW !! A FEW MORE CARS.

They have a
Convertable EH, very nice !!
HR Ute
& for the F**d fans
2 GT Falcon Ute's
A white XP (I think)Ute
& a Phase 3 GT Falcon, ( or replica )

DRIVE ON !!

Thats what i was thinking too Rob, probably wouldnt import them to UK until someone brought one.
That 52 Chevy ute will probably go to the US, as you know they were pretty popular in their day down here, and alot of blokes on the US are snapping them up now...bit like the grand daddy of their ElCamino's.

Hi Rob,

The XY 'GT' ute is in the U.K. (Edinburgh, which is where the company are based).

Had an email from the guy. I will try and find out if the others are here too.

May even take a run over there.

All the best
Sandy

P.S. And no credit for me for passing on the info to you either, a guy could get sulky, until he gets to mention MARCUS and RUSSELL.

Mark ... who ? HRT ... what ?

:-)

OK mate, Sorry !

Yes this annoying person gave sent me the link to the site ok everyone. I wondered how long before he got on here about the F**d victory.

Only joking mate ! I hate to say it but, well done Marcus & the Stone Brothers, they have made a lot of difference to the team. Amazining how fast they can make that old boat ancor 5.8 donk go hay !

The GREAT MARK SKAIFE & HRT have gone through some big changes in the last year, which may have effected their team preperation. HRT are still the Team that everyone wants to emulate and have the unrivaled success they have had over the past with firstly HDT & now HRT. They WILL NOT want Stone Brothers to get the hat trick, so look out next year OK !

So enjoy it while you can !

All the best mate,
Rob.

Hi Rob
What's more surprising is me ol' mate Russell Ingall coming second, thought Brighty was a cert. But he (Ingall)probably learned all he knows a few seasons ago in a Commodore didn't he? Of course he did.
Looks like next Saturday for the Tooheys Rob. £31 a case. Let me know if that's what you want. Are you still ok to meet at Fleming Park Sun?
Let me know mate.

G'Day Mick,

Yes mate, old Russell has had a consistent car all year, don't think he won a race, but finished in most, that's what gets you the points hay. As for Brighty not a good second half of the season for him. Greg Murphy whom I thought was the best bet for runner up, had a bad weekend & not many points which cost him 2nd spot in the Championship.

Oh well next year hay.

Sorry mate, I'm working Sun ( tomorrow ) so don't think I will get to fleming Park. Don't worry about the Beer I will get it from Walkabout, if not on the Aust Shop Web Site.

Thanks anyway mate,
Regards
Rob.

Hi Rob
You've got your wires crossed mate. It's next Saturday 18th i'm going to the Aussie shop and Fleming Park is next day Sun 19th. The Australia Shop won't send drink via courier for fear of breakages etc, and to buy it retail from Walkabout or The Outback in Southsea is an expensive way to get it. Ok if you just want a couple of stubbies at home but dear in quantity.
Let me know mate
Mick

No Worries mate,

I have asked the Aust Shop if they want to set up a small stand at the Aust Day show, but no reply as yet. Let you know what they say ok.

If not I may drop in myself on way to Ace as well.

Rob.
