If you are talking about the factory fit satnv, then the original satnav disc that came with mine was a full European disc - had all of Western Europe on it.

Certainly more than good enough to get me through Paris and down to the south of France and back a few times.

When you go in and set up a new destination, it allows you to change the country as well.

I upgraded mine direct from Blaupunkt a while ago so have the original if you need it.

I'm looking for a new version too. The one currently in it is Blaupunkt Travelpilot EX-V Teleatlas Europe DVD 2008.

The burning question just waiting to be asked by Monaro owners is....

"What's a satnav?" confused

Sorry to jump in on your Sat Nav question Mr Hall, the head unit in my new E3 has the sat nav button but when I pressed it, nothing happened.

Is it just a case of getting a CD and sticking it in to get it working?

Are you sure it has Nav? All of the VEs had a navigation button, but it did naff all unles you had the dics reader in the glovebox and the GPS receiver.

E3 is based on the VE series 2 which has a different SatNav system in it. It uses a memory card. I reckon a GTS should have it in there. All the VE series 2 Holden SSV cars have it. I had to pay somebody to put it in my car, OEM aftermarket.

That's a good point and to be honest I've avoided all manual use to tell me what to do. Will have a read up on the weekend. smile

By the way, backup discs won't work that you can acquire elsewhere. You will need to buy the proper disc at £120-£200.

I haven't bothered updating mine I just use my TomTit as it does HD traffic and scam eras.

I didn't get the sat nav book with mine when I bought it and the one I bought on fleabay went missing in the post so I've always had to curse at mine when trying to set it up! It's OK, does the job but the map display is a bit pants, I certainly would have been P'd off if I had paid for it as an option.

It's only marginally better than the sat nav in my 13 year old Rover 75, that only does turn by turn displays on the speedo display and audio instructions.

One thing I do like about the sat nav in the VXR8 is the fact it puts the road names up on the speedo panel even if it's not in use.

Stef

This is the disc you need by the way

I've tried using the factory sat nav in my R8 and each time given up and used the one on my phone instead!
