Until I pick up my new Monaro VXR on Saturday. I think it was one of the last unregistered ones still available. It should be a great weekend :-)

Has anyone any advice on driving the beast in winter conditions (snow/ice) other than being very light with the right foot?

One other question - how do I join the hsv drivers club?

Hi fellow VXR owner!!!

Steady as she goes is all i will say. They only bite if prodded!!! Be aware of the torque, can catch u out when u least expect.

You will love it.

Congratulations on your purchase.

What colour did you go for???

I pick up my standard Monaro in about 7 days (can't wait)

Let me know what it's like when you have had it a few days.

I'm a little worried myself about the snow/ice with this much power at the rear wheels.

I hope I don't wrap it around a lampost the first weekend I have it.

Hi Carl,

It's Quicksilver - didn't really have a choice of colour due to limited supply of VXRs, but I wanted a silver one anyway .

I'll let you know what it's like after a few days of driving.

I was most impressed with the VXR I drove on the test drive. It was a really wet day, and to be honest, I thought it was very well behaved given the power and torque available.

I'm just hoping it's better than the VX220 was in snow (it just wanted to swap ends all the time).

Steve,

You will have to try and stick a photo of 'the beast' on your profile if you can.

Have wheel spinning fun!!!!!

Yes I've got it at last
Picked it up Saturday lunchtime at Colwyn Bay, and enjoyed yesterday afternoon driving round north Wales, and a quick cross country run back from Wales to Gloucestershire today. It's every bit as good as I thought it would be from the test drive, and it's not even run in yet.
I'm looking forward to a lot more driving over the next week. The only down side is that I'll probably have to give up drinking beer to pay for the petrol.
