Jagsy,

I'm still up for a meet.

I would be happy to visit Stratford (stayed their once on a course about 8 yrs ago).

I suggest:
Alveston Manor Hotel
Clopton Bridge,
Stratford-upon-Avon,
Warwickshire,
CV37 7HP
Phone: +44 (0)870 400 8181

I haven't stayed there, but:
Its cheap (approx. Double £50.00 per room per night.
and its in Stratford (i.e. lots of places to visit ad pubs!)
I searched it out on the net.

I could phone tomorrow and check availability.

Do we know numbers yet?
Who wants to stay, who is visiting for the day?

I will stay over for a few beers!

We are still within striking range of the Motor Museum and Shakespeare County Raceway!

For the Ladeez, there is a lot to do in Stratford, An Hathaways House, Shakespeares House, Shops etc. etc. (sorry for the sexist remarks!!!!).

Who is up for it?

Cheers

Eric

We are not much help here - Annette can't make it, but I'm still keen to meet up somewhere just for Saturday only. Hopefully a pub is involved!

All,

Phoned the Alveston Manor and the Mil-Mar and they have rooms as follows:

Alveston = £180 per room per night (so they can p1ss off)
Mil-Mar = nothing (as they have no rooms)

Still game though.
if any-one can find a hotel with a double room for around £50-£70 then i'll be there for a beer (or two!)

That is where I'm going now so i've stopped looking!

Watch this space

Cheers

Eric

All,

I have done a bit of digging and Stratford is a pain to get a cheap hotel room for this weekend, I don't know if something is on?

So, how about getting a hotel in south of gloucester (M5 J12) (where I live!).

It's a Holiday Inn Express (£39 per room per night)
has a good pub alongside (The Bumblebee).

40 to 50 mins from Stratford.
20 mins to Cheltenham
20 mins from Worcester/Tewkesbury

10 mins from Berkeley Castle (famous for many resons including Edward II and his paibful demise via the red hot poker!!!)

What do you think?

(P.S. not very exiting for Des and Matt as they have probably been down here!??!!?)

Cheers

Eric

Des,

I think, for the people who are travelling long distance: accomodation is the main issue just now.
I have phoned several Stratford/Worcester/Warwick hotels and they all seem full (or expensive!)

The event(s) can be travelled to no proble when accomodation is sorted.

Jagsy, have you found any hotels in the vicinity?

Cheers

Eric

Oh! and drags aren't on now as the season finished at the end of Oct.

I thought something else would be on, but a quick check on the web confirms as suspected, raceway is now a ghost town till march 2005.

Anyone decided what the attraction will be!

Stratford and Motor Museum?

Jagsy, give us a meeting place.

Cheers
