Hello peeps,

A few questions. My outside temperature is currently showing 48 degrees, and I live in mid England so there's obviously a problem.

Where is the sensor located ?
Depending on where it's located, can it be cleaned/checked without dismantling half the car ?
Apart from sensing the temp, does this fault affect anything else ?
Does anybody know the part number ?

Thank you

Hello all,

I know this is an old thread but i can't find any info.

I've noticed this above issue tonight, i thought for a few days that outside temps have been reading a bit high on the display. It was freezing out and it was reading around 3 degrees.

Got in tonight, freezing out again and i confirmed its an issue as the outside temp on the display was 19 deg...

Anyone have any ideas. I'll give the display a wiggle in the morning but doubt thats the fix.

Im thinking dodgy or dirty ambient air temp sensor. Which im not sure where its located.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Probably located in the front bumper , more than likely sensor and not connection but try connections any way , Ebay or dealer , some one mentioned an omega one but not sure if that's just the Monaro one , I found out from Subaru mine was 55£ so went second hand for 30£

I had the sensor replaced behind the front bumper, and that cured it.

From the part numbers I can find, it is a generic GM part. Fitted to Saabs, Buicks, Vauxhalls as well as Holdens. GM part no. 09152245 or ACDelco part no. 15-50353 Cost £10
It is located behind the front drivers side grille somewhere, connected to an A/C bracket.
