My ute has FE2 suspension as indeed do normal monaros. My question is are the damping rates of the dampers actually the same?

Reason for asking is am considering dropping the back down a touch using monaro springs. Having checked the various spring rates and vehicle weights, monaro springs should do the job and make it less "bouncy" provided the damping rates are the same. There is only 50 kilos difference in weight between a ute and a monaro and logic suggests that this difference is mostly at the back.

I know it reduces the carrying capacity, but it don't carry anything!

I have considered a full lowering kit, but i have a nightmare bridge at the entrance to work which the front only just clears.

I had FE2 suspension fitted to my VN commodore years ago and am almost certain it consisted of new springs and shocks. So I suspect both require changing.
