Picked up my Monaro at the weekend, and I love it. It even started bleeping at me yesterday and told me to take a rest break, with an icon of a tree and a park bench on the display :-) no mention of this one in the manual....

a couple of things :-
its too quiet ! I saw a VXR on saturday with an exhaust from Picadors. Sounded great from outside the car, anyone got one of these ?

The steerings too slow. Maybe a VXR rack will help. Has anyone driven both cars ?

It also hates going into reverse when its cold, so I just park it facing out.

Apart from that its the biz.

welcome to the forum and club "alfienoakes"......

"Caspy" has the system you mention and it sound very cool, the only slight down side is a bit of a drone when crusing, but as the system is made to order the addition of a small rear resonator box would sort it without changing the sound...........

Welcome Alfie.

I assume u have the blue one ?

VXR drives very differently from the standard. Rack makes it slightly quicker but it is coupled with different suspension, so it is difficult to guage just the effect of the rack. I am sure a thread on here suggested that the CV8 rack is the the same as the V6 in oz, not sure though.

If trying to engage reverse when cold, engage any forward gear, then try reverse. worked for me on my old one.

yes, mines the blue one. Thanks for letting me hear yours at the weekend. I've not had a big slide yet, but I imagine that it will be a bit busy with this rack. The 325 was the same. The i200 Manta was spot on though....
Its only got 1700 miles at the moment, so I'm hoping the gearbox will loosen up a bit in the next few weeks. Then I'll start looking at go-faster bits.

Alfie - WELCOME.

Pleased to hear you like your motor.

There are a few posts already regarding exhaust - have a look.

Alfie - welcome and good to have another Monaro owner here.

I've done a few mods to my car - Linden stage 2 with stainless headers and exhaust system, modified maf meter, and the air filter box extra air intake mod. Puts out 350bhp at the rear wheels (estimated flywheel 410bhp) and has completely transformed the car. I have the cs performance large bore maf/throttle body pipe on order, and also hope to have an 'edit' tune (ecu remap) done soon aswell. I'm hoping to get the output up to around 430bhp. Next mods will be a big brake kit (desperately trying to source that at the moment) and I may lower the suspension a little, to finish off. Oh, and I've replaced the Stereo with something better!

Enjoy your Monaro!

I've had my Monaro for 5 months and it seems to be getting more attention now than ever, particularly when filling it up (often!).
I've also had Linden Stage 2 upgrade, plus brakes and suspension. I thought the car was great before, but the difference in throttle response, acoustics, stoppers, etc. is immense .
I got a lift to work this morning in my car. I've not had the chance to hear someone else drive it away before and to watch the reaction - sounds loud and throaty and everyone turns to look.
Beginning to believe my wife's claim that she knows I'm coming home when I'm still 5 miles off.

Cheers guys, I'm getting loads of ideas from reading thru all the posts here. Quicker steering and more noise are still top of the list though :-)

I walked straight into that one.
Yorkshire women!

By the way, can't find a serial number for my car (haven't looked hard mind!), so feel free to put the pics on the site. Car was with Mark this week and idle and fuel consumption are now much better, and the front end sits a bit lower.

G'Day Jagsy,

You will have to update me mate, as I've not been on line much lately, sorting out a few things.

What have you brought & if so what has happened to the Gold Godest ?

Regards,
Rob.
