Going to return soon for some fettling to the tuning set up, so I'm thinking of booking it for the day, one other attending so should leave a couple of slots for a power run, ideally anyone with a standard HSV/Monaro looking to know what its output is or considering some modifications would be ideal as we have not tested what the factory delivered to date at Abbey.

Likely to be held Mid Oct.

I'd like to go back for another run. I'd like to see what difference the wide body maf -> throttle body pipe makes. I have one on order from cs performance, but they say it's going to be a few weeks before it's made/delivered to me. May be I could 'borrow' one, and temporarily fit it, just for the run, if mine doesn't arrive in time? Maybe we could also compare the performance of the standard maf unit, against the Linden modded unit? (I have my original unit) Both these bits are quite quick and easy to swap over on the day. Also, I'd love to flash in the HSV engine management profile, and see what that does. Paul UKHSV - You demonstrated the hptuners software at the last abbey run, in 'read only' mode (very impressive!) but have you actually downloaded new parameters or a new profile to the ecu yet? Knowing how cantankerous computers can be sometimes, I wouldn't want the profile to get corrupted. Can you imagine taking it back to Vauxhall to sort out, under warranty! (I think not)

But yes, we need somebody to take along a STANDARD MONARO to Abbey, so that we can get baseline figs for the Monaro.

I have spent many happy hours changing my long term fuel trims (which should be finished next week) then I need the use of a wide band O2 and a rolling road.

So another day at Abbey in two weeks or so will be spot on.

"GSE" you can use my Maf pipe on the day if yours does not arrive in time.

As for up loading the HSV tune you need someone with the licence for 04 Monaro to do it..........

Erm, not sure what use it will be to me until I purchase edit tool.

But, I'm on leave last week in October, the Monday Tuesday or Wednesday of that may be an option???

But don't hang out for me - it may only be an option for me.

Ok, guys read this series of articles, that will get your mind wandering and tell you what you should be buying. Looks like a straight hsv pcm isnt quite whats required, but might be a start. Though they mention some merging needs to be done..

Just a thought. If anyone is in the Southampton area, if they speak to Picador nicely, they have my old CV8 unmoddified car for sale with circa 4k on the clock.

If they have not sold it by then, they may want to join us, or even let us 'borrow' the car for the day.

I know Graham to ask him, but it is too far out of my way to collect etc.

Not yet .... want to get all of the 'hardware' mods done first. Should be interesting watching your tune tomorrow - I assume you're going to be using the HP Tuners software for the tune? How many cars (VIN no's) does HP tuners allow? Possible 'group buy'?

BTW - my MAF pipe still hasn't arrived, so if its still ok, I'll have to borrow yours.

If you buy HP Tuners, with a Monaro 2004 licence you can tune any 04 Monaro.............it is not locked to the VIN.

no problem on the maf pipe...........

Just a note to the Pauls - the Monaro MAF has a sensor attached to the pipe and I had to drill the new pipe (well the rubber joiner) to plug the sensor in.
I don't know if your HSV pipe has the sensor attached but I'm not using mine tomorrow if it's required - unfortunately I can't attend the RR as I'm skint and can't get time off work

Of course ... the sensor! Thats a spanner in the works then

I've driven down to my parents place in Kent this evening, as I plan to arrive at Abbey first thing in the morning, as I want to watch the edit tune on ukhsv Pauls car. If I haven't got the pipe, there is no point my car going on the dynos....

Depending on whereabouts you are, Dan, maybe I could drive over and collect your pipe after ukhsv's run, as my car is not due on 'till 2pm ??

I don't have your number, and don't know if anybody else has - and sods law - I've left my mobile phone at home. Maybe you could give Abbey Motorsport a ring tomorrow mid-morning, and we'll see if something can be arranged.
