One front strut collapsed, prop shaft joints replaced, diff leaks, power steering pump leaks, brakes replaced, wiper arms cororded, fuel purge canister replaced, rust - minor welding req'd, wheels subject to premature structural failure IMHO, steering rod gaiters, failed cat on one side, rubber trim - top of doors to windows to name the ones I can recall.

58k currently, owned from 30k & obviously driven with attitude.

Where are my manners, welcome aboard

Will - these are minor issues

And apologies powerdrift, welcome.

I've got:
-squealing brakes at the moment, no big issue
-corroded wiper arms, don't we all
-groans / creaks as I turn power front wheels, no big issue
-corroded pwoer steering cooler, should have been removed when I bought the car!

I've got 58k miles and enjoying every 10k as they pass

On the engine side of things, it seems the GTS-R's have suffered problems with their "Calloway C4B" engine's. (I have been told of 4 cars now)

Who does your servicing and rebuilds? did they find a specific problem?

"Pommona" & "sjc" have you had problems with your engine's?

ps. do you have any pictures of your GTS-R and the build number so I can add you to the other GTS-R's on the site paul@hsvdriversclub.co.uk

Owned mine from new.22K miles to date.By 10K the engine had developed the common (then) piston slap,for me unacceptable.Also in my early days of S/C, detonation was a problem which I know contributed to head gasket problem.Changed pistons,graded to the varying bore sizes that was the GM problem,fitted Mahle pistons and latest spec rings with napier top ring and no problem since,no oil useage and running high boost.No oil leaks,steering boots burnt but that is common,and generally very satisfied.I do all M/T & upgrades myself so keep a watchfull eye on things and must admit have upgraded a lot of HSV's specs:ie brakes ,clutch,oil coolers,etc,to enjoy and have lots of fun in 'using' my Holden to the Max;

yep will get some pics up for you. had one build by linden( £££££££) and the 2ed one was at a local garage near me ... all the other stuff i do myself or get someone to help me. still.... was running a scooby also and went thro 5 engines in that!!

on another note... the superchargers that are fitted on some of the cars... the votexs ones are they the one one that can fit in there? have had someone offer a supercharger to me which are for american V8s but its massive!! wonder if there is a way to get it fitted in.. will get more info on what make and what size it is!!

Dont forget the Holden is the same type of build as the Omega/Vectra etc here, in fact probably a little worse, they used to rust like hell in NZ and door seals, handles etc always fall off and come loose etc. They are not up to BMW build standard.
Also a supercharger on a 10.5:1 compression engine is pushing it even with 6psi or whatever the linden ones run. Best to run forged pistons and drop the CR down to 9:1 or so. Of course if the PCM is configured to adjust timing and mix accordingly perhaps no prob. Though seeing as Linden dont reprogram the pcm to my knowledge I personally would steer clear of the SC cars.

Fingers crossed in 3 years and 24000 miles had hardly any probs and certainly no engine ones. Howevr the car is never driven that hard and absolutely never when cold.

Not unhappy 5 years 40k in GTS

Prop Shaft Joint
Diff refilled a few times and leaked
New Brakes, discs front (cooked on track day)
New wheels ( Marlow bridge width restriction)
Stearing gaitors
Battery
New cats
Exhaust rear end modified.

Too many tyres to remember and enough mobile 1 to run a small middle east state
