G'Day Rev Heads,

See Brian (pomona)with his GTS-R,

Top of The League of Gentlemen, a list in last months ( August)Total Vauxhall Mag of the Hottest Vauxhall's. He has the most BHP at 526.5, good to see a HOLDEN showing those V boy's the best way to go,Holden V8 MATE! Closest car was a Twin Turbo Lotus Carlton at 417.

Shame some of the Aussie cars are not over here, then you would see some real Horse Power !

Come on Will, can you top the ladder ??

Holden, Drive ON !

Youre not trying to stir thing up are you Rob?

If I do not top that figure (eventually) I will have to kill myself - or someone else....

Funny thing is, how does one determine the output for quoting purposes, there are some major differences of opinion on this, one company quoting 35% on top of wheel output, the other stating 50-60 BHP on top of wheel ouput figures, I'm going to go with wheel output statistics, so for now mine is 420 BHP at 4,400 RPM and 500 Lb of torque - pulls well but decelerates past 4.5k!!!!!

I think mine should easily exceed 600 BHP at the wheels but I will beleive it when I see it.

Another point, there must be a difference in measured outputs between standard rolling roads and the Kiwi answer 'Dynapack' ?

Does the Kiwi dyno not have a drag output factor mechanism built in to calculate and then produce rwbhp and engine bhp.600 BHP at rear wheels!!! hmmm.

Hi Brian

Abbey do not beleive in conversion factors, just the power at the wheels is what they deal in. They reckon the drivetrain loss on the holden is between 50 & 60 BHP on their Dynapack, others talk of 35% drivetrain losses on conventional rolling roads, blimey, whats the definitive answer without taking the engine out.

Don't you fancy joining us on the 24th?

Be nice if we could all sing from the same hymn sheet.

Regards

Will

G'Day Will,

I thought it might be an interesting topic. I do hope you top the HP ladder mate and if they can finally sort things out for you, you should do that.

All the best mate,
Rob.

LS1 6 speed boxes are generally thought to lose about 50 hp or so it seems on the US forums.

Don't forget the losses thro the diff, driveshafts, propshaft etc.If you look at all the dynos,UK, US, or Oz the good ones quote 25/26% power loss thro to flywheel.

Will,
Thanks for the invite, but at the present I will remain with the rolling road company SAS,as this is where I have done my testing, and to change machinery can only cloud the results ,as you have quoted in your previous posts.
