Thanks.

I bought it from Picador. They have a lot of exhausts made for VX220 and VX220R. They took there demo exhaust, and took a pattern. I have to say it is an excellent job. Cat back for now. Guy used to run Janspeed and set up on his own or something.

Anyway, 4 mins before going home time, and the thunder starting. I will send pics and do a little vid bite similar to Jagsy's if u want.

I gave picador my original GTS-R exhaust so as they might use as a pattern. So you have a GTS-R type design exhaust from 'cat back'

As a standard GTS-R makes 410hp I think it is a good thing!

Do we have a contact name for the people who made the system? or is it purchased through Picador's?

As I would like to get some prices and options so I can post them on the club site.

Good to see a new supplier in the marketplace

I would speak to Graham Jacobs at Picador.

He didnt say the company name. I am sure he will be more than helpful. In terms of pattern, to big pipes is about it.

Pop Pop burble burble.

Hehehehe.

Correct. I was over at Picador this evening and indeed the silver demo CV8 (which Chris is currently commuting in) has this exhaust fitted, made in stainless steel from a pattern.

The sound was INCREDIBLE, though apparently it can get quite uncomfortably resonant at certain engine speeds. Be interested to hear if you experience this, caspy - at around 80-85mph in 6th, I was told.

I'm also told that Picador will fit this exhaust for around £750 - a snip compared to the whoppingly expensive (a couple of thousand!!) factory-fit option sports exhaust. Hmmm, may have to take the silver one for a trial spin up the M27...

I have now done a long motorway run. As i am a very good boy on the motorway i dont cruise above 73. In sixth that is about 1850 rpm. Very resonant. However, drop to fith at the same speed and it is v quiet. 80-85 in sixth is fine. Slightly different diff ratio on VXR means about 100 rpm difference on VXR to V8 (VXR is higher rpm for same speed)

Other than that, it is the best £750 spent, it sounds fantastic ( to me anyway) and everybody who watches as i leave work in the evening just to hear it (sad).

Anyone in SE wants to hear and see then let me know.

Yes it is CAT back. And looks mandrel bent to me.

Mine has a couple of cherry bombs in the place of the mufflers. Its just PERFECT.

Its reasonably loud on load and around 65 - 70. But at 80 it goes quiet, good for cruising.

Since I did the air box mod its got better

I will eventually do the headers and balance pipes - my zorst tone still has a feathery sound - I'm certain its the balance pipe.
